Colour of the Year

Happy New Year! If you are lucky like me, you are still enjoying some time off to spend with family and friends. I thought I would take this opportunity, while I had some time, to wish everyone a Happy New Year and to kick start 2017 with a new blog.

One of my goals this year is to keep the blog posts and Newsletters rolling so you know what we are up to!

My topic today is Greenery: Pantones "Colour of the Year". I probably shouldn't reveal my ignorance here, but when I first read about it, I thought it was a general colour to cover all things lush and green. It turns out, Greenery is an actual (Pantone) colour!

My first reaction was that I didn't really like it. I'm a big fan of deep, lush greens but Greenery is a lighter brighter green, one I wouldn't consider a favourite of mine. But when I thought about it, and starting thinking about some lamp designs and colour ways, I realised it actually is quite versatile. The other green to make the cut in Pantones colour trend forecast for 2017 is Kale. So having two greens to work with, does open up the possibilities for lovely jungle/tropical themes.

But if green is not your thing, don't fear. Pantone's colour trend forecast includes lots of lovely other colours including hot pinks, bright oranges, blues and yellows.
